Alma Arias is a military veteran, Pilates instructor and wellness advocate whose personal journey with Pilates began after years of back issues and a weak core. After a decade of military service, she discovered a different expression of strength through controlled movement, alignment, breathing and mind-body connection. Seven years into her Pilates journey, the practice has become both a grounding force in her own life and a foundation for helping others build strength, confidence and resilience.

From Military Strength to Core Strength
A decade in the military taught Alma Arias resilience.
But resilience doesn't mean the body never needs help.
After dealing with back issues and a weak core, Alma was introduced to Pilates. Walking into her first class was intimidating, but she decided to give it a chance.
That decision ultimately changed her relationship with movement.
Military training can teach discipline, endurance and the ability to push through discomfort.
Pilates introduced Alma to another side of strength: control, alignment, breathing, stability and mind-body connection.
Rather than simply asking the body to work harder, Pilates encouraged her to understand how her body moved. Over time, she began developing the core strength that had been missing.
